The Phoenix Suns have agreed to a one-year deal with free agent wing Damion Lee, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

The agreement would be the first for the Suns this offseason after NBA free agency began on Thursday at 3 pm Arizona time.

With former Suns backup guard Aaron Holiday reportedly agreeing to a one-year deal with the Atlanta Hawks, Lee looks to be his replacement.

Lee’s athleticism allows him to defend both the guard and wing positions while also providing depth as a decent shooter.

Lee, who turns 30 in October, is coming off of a 2021-22 season in which he served as a role player en route to winning his first Larry O’Brien Trophy with the Golden State Warriors over the Boston Celtics in June’s NBA Finals.

The 6-foot-5, 210-pound guard averaged 7.4 points, 3.2 rebounds, 1.0 assists and 0.6 steals in 19.9 minutes per game last season.

Lee also shot 44.1% from the field, 33.7% from three-point range and 88% from the free throw line in 63 games (five starts).

Since going undrafted out of Louisville in 2016 and signing with the Hawks in 2018, the five-year pro has a career average of 8.2 points, 3.5 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 0.7 steals in 21.0 minutes per contest.

In 216 regular-season games (53 starts) in his NBA career, Lee is shooting 43.4% from the field, 35.7% from three and 86.8% from the charity stripe.

And despite being on the Warriors from 2018-22, Lee saw his first playoff action this past postseason, where he contributed with 2.0 points and 1.6 rebounds over 7.8 minutes per game in 16 appearances.

Lee is also married to Sydel Curry-Lee, who is the daughter of former NBA player Dell Curry and the younger sister of Warriors guard Stephen Curry and Brooklyn Nets guard Seth Curry.
