Miles Teller says he has been having ‘conversations’ with Tom Cruise about a Top Gun sequel… but admits the decision is all up to his co-star
He starred opposite Tom Cruise in the blockbuster movie Top Gun: Maverick.
And Miles Teller revealed he is having ‘conversations’ with his co-star, 60, about a potential sequel.
‘That would be great, but that’s all up to TC,’ the actor, 35, told ET of a possible third movie. ‘It’s all up to Tom. I’ve been having some conversations with him about it. We’ll see.’

Tom and Miles are currently basking in the triumph of Top Gun: Maverick, which became only the second movie to make over $1 billion since the pandemic took off.
The movie is also the highest-grossing of Tom’s career, and the first of his films to achieve the $1 billion mark at the global box office.
Miles, speaking with the publication at the American Century Championship in South Lake Tahoe on Thursday, said his team are using the wildly successful film in negotiations.
‘That’s definitely what my team has been saying for these future negotiations,’ he said of the film making a billion dollars at the box office.

In addition to his wildly successful new flick, Cruise is also celebrating his recent 60th birthday.
Miles revealed he sent Tom a message in honor of his special day.
‘I just sent him a message the other day for his birthday,’ Miles said.

‘For him to share Top Gun with me and a lot of these other young actors. To bring us into that world, it’s just been such a wild ride, and it’s still going,’ he said.
Tom features amid a cast of newer sex symbols like Glen Powell, but the movie also briefly reunites him with Val Kilmer, who played his rival in the original.
One of the subplots involves his character reigniting his romance with an old flame played by Jennifer Connelly, who in real life was 15 when the first movie came out.

One project Miles doesn’t anticipate to be coming back for, however, is another season of The Offer.
The miniseries is about the making of the classic 1972 motion picture The Godfather.
‘I don’t know. As of now, I’d say no. I mean once they make The Godfather, that’s it,’ he said.
