Poison’s singer Bret Michaels hospitalized in Nashville

Bret Michaels the lead singer of poison, was admitted to the hospital on Thursday in Nashville just before the group was scheduled to take the stage as part of the Stadium Tour alongside Def Leppard, Mtley Cre, and Joan Jett and the Blackhearts.

according to TMZ, his bandmates went on stage to make the announcement and apologized for having to cancel their performance.

On the 10th anniversary of his brain hemorrhage in 2020-which happened to fall on the night he was unmasked as the banana on season three of The Masked Singer-Michaels revealed he was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at age six.

“This is the roses and thorns of my life,” he said at the time on a People Magazine interview. “I’m so grateful. I celebrate the anniversary as being on the good side of the dirt and surviving. I don’t ever celebrate the brain hemorrhage.

“But how ironic that it is literally 10 years to the moment when the show airs, it was airing at the exact time that they were operating at night on my brain. Who knew that this would all come full circle on April 22? On my kids’ life, my life, I had no idea that any of this would line up,” Michaels added.

The length of Michaels’ absence is unknown; however, the tour will still go on with shows in Florida on Saturday and Mississippi on Sunday.

In a recent update to their story, TMZ claimed a source close to Michaels claimed he might have experienced a negative reaction to a medication that is related to COVID medication and that his diabetes may have caused the reaction.

The mega-tour finally began on June 16 in Atlanta, Georgia, and is scheduled to last all summer long before coming to an end on September 9 in Las Vegas.
