Nicki Minaj has never cared what people thought of her. Whether she’s being scolded for her musical ability or her choice of clothing, the 39-year-old has managed to remain unbothered by what critics have to say– even regarding the sensitive topic around each husband.

It’s no secret that Nicki’s husband, Kenneth Petty, pled guilty to attempted rape nearly three decades ago. Due to this, he served more than four years in prison and was ordered to register as a sex offender. Despite this, Nicki, whose real name is Onika Tanya Maraj, decided to reconnect with her old friend, get married, and even produce a child with him.

Nevertheless, as they began to form into a family, things from Petty’s past continued to follow him. Last year, it was reported that Petty failed to register as a sex offender after moving to the state of California. As a result of his actions, a case was formed against him to which he pleaded guilty– a few days ago he learned his fate.

The father of one faced ten years behind bars with supervision for life, but ultimately walked away with one year of house arrest, three years of probation, and a $55,000 fine.

After the news broke online, thousands of people targeted Nicki and the lifestyle she chose to live. However, this did n’t phase her not one bit because she decided to post a picture of her two favorite men. In the first image, their last sat on Petty’s shoulders. In the second slide, the three were standing near each other outside of their luxurious home.

Takahashi Kazuki, the manga artist who created the cultural sensation Yu-Gi-Oh, passed away at the age of 60 on Wednesday. The details of his death are still under investigation, but according to public broadcaster NHK, the artist’s body was found out at sea, nearly 1000 feet off the coast of Nago in Okinawa Province. He was reportedly wearing snorkeling equipment.

Takahashi’s body was identified on Thursday when the Japan Coast Guard found an abandoned white rental car under Takahashi’s name about 12 kilometers away. According to the Coast Guard, Takahashi had traveled to Okinawa alone, and his body had no noticeable signs of injury. In response to the tragic death, Takahashi’s agency Studio Dice turned his personal website black.

Takahashi began creating manga in the early 1980s, but he remained relatively obscure until he started Yu-Gi-Oh in 1996. The immensely popular series followed a boy who discovers and solves a magical puzzle which awakens a gaming alter-ego within him. The manga appeared in Weekly Shonen Jump magazine and only increased in popularity. It was then made into an anime series and a feature film.

Yu-Gi-Oh also expanded into other media, including a trading card game which became an international phenomenon. The game was first published by Bandai and then by Konami, and has players battle each other with their respective cards. It has now been certified by the Guinness Book of Records as the highest-selling trading card game in the world. Takahashi remained involved in the property, overseeing the manga and receiving Comic-Con International’s Inkpot Award, which celebrates an individual who has made outstanding contributions to science fiction and fantasy media.

We’re not sure what or who is putting the batteries in the backs of fans these days, but an encounter involving Cardi has caused conversations to erupt about handsy fans. The Bronx rapper is known for her fiery personality and interaction with her supporters. However, one person looked as if they crossed the line while Cardi was on stage performing in London.

There has been an influx of fans (and haters) who have rushed stages in recent months. We’ve seen the after-effects of these encounters with people like Roddy Ricch, Dave Chappelle, Playboi Carti, Slipknot, Oliver Tree, BeatKing, and more.

Several of our favorites are taking to the Wireless Festival stage including Cardi who had the crowd singing along to her hits. There was one moment when the rapper was sitting down as the DJ was hyping the crowd when something occurred right below her. The altercation caused Cardi to fight back and she was captured hitting someone with her microphone before the large screens went black. What immediately followed is unknown and Cardi has yet to speak on the incident.

This comes on the heels of someone rushing Roddy Ricch at a concert in Switzerland, causing his security to take the person down. In that video, viewers can see Roddy getting a few kicks in before the person was escorted off of the stage.

Young Thug’s nephew is reportedly in police custody after allegedly killing his girlfriend, TMZ reports. Police say they arrested Fardereen Deonta Grier on Wednesday at a residential home just outside of Atlanta after receiving a call about robbers. East Point PD spokesperson Allyn Glover revealed that police witnessed Grier in tears as his girlfriend Destiny was lying in blood once they responded.

Glover said that police responded to a call from Grier who told police that he was fighting off two home introducers who were armed and masked. However, the officers claim that Grier confessed to shooting Destiny in the face, while a neighbor confirmed they overheard an argument at the residence before police arrived.

Glover also said Grier informed the police that he’s related to Young Thug. Grier is the son of Thug’s oldest sister, which sources close to the Atlanta rapper confirmed to the publication.

Glover confirmed that Grier has been charged with murder for the death of his girlfriend. So far, Thug’s legal team hasn’t issued any comments regarding Grier’s arrest.

Thug is currently behind bars after he was arrested as part of a RICO indictment on YSL. This week, a judge issued an order to protect witnesses in the case after prosecutors allege those testing have received death threats.

His previous run-in with Miami police last year almost created trouble for Polo G, but months ago, the rapper learned that the charges were reportedly dropped. It wasn’t long after the release of his chart-topping Hall of Fame record that Polo G found himself arrested in Miami amid report that he assaulted an officer. He was tacked with charges that have since been dropped. Although the drama was behind him, today (July 7), body cam footage of the arrest was released and in it, viewers find the rapper lecturing an officer about his bank account.

In the clip, Polo G is heard yelling “yo” before an officer told him to stop. He replied, “You broke as hell.”

When the officer said, “Here we go about the broke and the money. Oh my god.”

“I’m just sayin’, do you got $10,000 in your bank account right now?” the rapper questioned. “I’m just sayin’, bro. If you die right now, what can you give your kids? If you die right now, what could you give the lady that you in bed with? What could you give to your mama? Have you ever bought yo’ mama anything? Did you buy yo’ mama a car? Did you buy yo’ mama a house? I did that.”

The officer said, “Good for you, bro. I’m glad you did that… I would love to do that one day.”

Polo was finished. “You would love to do it, but you never will.” When the officer asked Polo G if he was trying to make him feel like less of a man, the rapper said yes. Polo added that the officer could have been a baseball player, doctor, or boxer and made more money, but instead chose to be a cop.

On May 9, Young Thug, Gunna, Duke, and several other YSL Records artists and affiliates were named in a sprawling Georgia RICO indictment. Young Thug was one of the first accused artists to be arrested, and shortly after the indictment was announced, Gunna turned himself in as well. On May 23, Gunna was denied bond after prosecutors argued that the “pushin P” rapper is actually a documented YSL gang member and a dangerous leader in the organization.

Over a month later, Gunna has returned to court for a reconsideration of bond, but the DS4EVER artist has been denied bond once again.

according to WSBTVthe Atlanta rapper appeared in court virtually today in an effort to be released on an “extreme bond that would include house arrest and recorded phone lines,” but due to his alleged leadership role in YSL, prosecutors reportedly urged the judge to keep Gunna in jail so that he is unable to potentially intimated witnesses.

Throughout this entire process, Gunna has attested that he is innocent and falsely accused, and on June 14, he released an open letter via Twitter that called for his freedom and the protection of Black art.

“Growing up from where I come from in a marginalized neighborhood, I never dreamt my art would change my life and the lives of my loved ones,” Gunna wrote in the statement. “We still pushing P: Power, Prayer, Progress, Passion, Productivity, Praise, Precision, Peace, Prosperity, Patience, Pride, and Persistence.”

After tense back and forths regarding whether or not he purposefully failed to register as a sex offender, Kenneth Petty has learned his fate. Nicki Minaj’s husband has been entangled in legal drama after Petty moved to California but did not register with the state. The rapper’s husband served time after he reportedly pleaded guilty to an attempted rape charge decades ago.

It was back in 1995 when then-16-year-old Jennifer Hough told police that Petty sexually assaulted her. He denied the but served four and a half years in prison following his conviction, and was ordered to register as a sex offender.

We previously reported that Petty pleaded guilty to the most recent charges against him. Prosecutors were said to have wanted a hefty penalty for the infraction, and today (July 6), a sentencing hearing put this all to rest.

Petty has been sentenced to one year of in-home detention instead of prison, in addition to three years probation. The US Attorney’s Office also stated that Petty must pay a $55K fine.

Neither Minaj nor Petty has issued statements regarding the news of his conviction, although it isn’t expected for the ultra-private couple to speak about this case.

ace TMZ notes, the South Carolina native was spotted at a Cardinals game in St. louis with What Happens in Vegas Actress Lake Bell last month. The two were sitting in the same box, seemingly trying to lay low and avoid attracting too much attention.

Over the weekend, the pair stepped out on several dates – first grabbing a bite to eat at Giorgio Baldi in Santa Monica on Saturday (July 2) and the next day, hitting up Coast Restaurant in the same area for more great food.
