Is Jupiter’s Claim—the fictional theme park featured in Jordan Peele’s new feature nope—as “hell no” inducing as Keke Palmer’s character seems to think in the first teaser? Brave viewers will soon have the opportunity to find themselves. On the same day the film premieres in theaters, the scenery (and alien terror) from the film will come to life in a new attraction at Universal Studios Hollywood.

Created by production designer Ruth DeJong, the new attraction is made from the real set pieces used in the film. per The Hollywood Reporterthe Jupiter’s Claim seen onscreen in nope was carefully disassembled after production and then reconstructed at the West Coast theme park. Original props and details from the movie have also been included in the experience.

“I remember visiting Universal Studios when I was 12 years old and being mesmerized. That experience reinforced my passion and drive to someday join in on the meta-magic of ‘backlot life.’ Since then, I’ve been fortunate enough to direct three movies for Universal,” Peele said in a statement, per THR. “It is a privilege to honor these collaborations with my studio partners, crew members, and cast, and to be able to share Jupiter’s Claim with fans.”

nope‘s Jupiter’s Claim joins the roster of other Universal Studio films that have real-world experiences to go along with them, from Steven Spielberg’s War Of The Worlds to Alfred Hitchcock’s Psycho. nope and its accompanying attraction are part of Peele’s exclusive deal with Universal Studio Group for film and television projects.

In the world of the movie, Jupiter’s Claim is a family-fun park owned and operated by ex-child star Ricky “Jupe” Park (Steven Yeun) in the Santa Clarita Valley of Southern California. The park’s overarching theme centers around a (decidedly sanitized and white-centric) version of the California Gold Rush. Jupiter’s Claim becomes a central location for the otherworldly chaos sibling duo Emerald and OJ Haywood (Palmer and Get Out‘s Daniel Kaluuya).

Dave Chappelle’s “What’s in a Name” comedy stand-up special was quietly released on Netflix Friday amid the comedian’s recent controversies.

The 48-year-old’s 40-minute speech was taken from an address he gave at his alma mater, the Duke Ellington School of the Arts in Washington, DC, last November.

His lecture at the time was not favored among the students and he was there because a theater was going to be named in honor of the comedian.

The speech included jokes about the transgender community and about his controversial 2021 special “The Closer.”

During his school visit, the funnyman also participated in a Q&A with students that made them angry and led to many slamming him for not listening to critical members of the LGBTQ community.

Chappelle decided not to have the theater named after him last month, and the school opted to call it the Theater for Artistic Freedom and Expression instead.

“What’s in a Name” discussed the cinema’s renaming, as well as Chappelle’s high school years in a Q&A session. He defended his “The Closer” stand-up special and said his critics did n’t look at the show’s artistic nature.

On the new Netflix show, he recalled: “All the kids were screaming and yelling. I remember, I said to the kids, I go, ‘Well, OK, well what do you guys think I did wrong?’ And a line formed. These kids said everything about gender, and this and that and the other, but they didn’t say anything about art.”

The “You’ve Got Mail” actor added, “And this is my biggest gripe with this whole controversy with ‘The Closer’: That you cannot report on an artist’s work and remove artistic nuance from his words.”

“It would be like if you were reading a newspaper and they say, ‘Man Shot In The Face By a Six-Foot Rabbit Expected To Survive,’ you’d be like, ‘Oh my god,’ and they never tell you it’s a Bugs Bunny cartoon,” he joked.

He then claimed the Q&A hurt his feelings and noted that the annoyed kids who weren’t happy with his content were hating on his “freedom of artistic expression.”

“When I heard those talking points coming out of these children’s faces, that really, sincerely, hurt me. Because I know those kids didn’t come up with those words. I’ve heard those words before. The more you say I can’t say something, the more urgent it is for me to say it,” Chappelle continued in “What’s in a Name.”

“And it has nothing to do with what you’re saying I can’t say. It has everything to do with my right, my freedom, of artistic expression. That is valuable to me. That is not severed from me. It’s worth protecting for me, and it’s worth protecting for everyone else who endeavors in our noble, noble professions,” he said.

“And these kids didn’t understand that they were instruments of oppression. And I didn’t get mad at them,” Chappelle pointed out. “They’re kids. They’re freshmen. They’re not ready yet. They don’t know.”

The “Con Air” actor has been under fire since the release of “The Closer” last year, in which he declared himself to be a “trans-exclusionary radical feminist.”

He was also attacked onstage by an armed audience member, Isaiah Lee, during a show at the Hollywood Bowl in May.

Gregory Itzin, best known for his role as President Charles Logan in the series “24” has died. He was 74.

Jon Cassar, an executive producer and director on the popular Fox series, confirmed the news in a tweet on Friday morning.

“My friend Greg Itzin passed away today. He was one of the most talented actors I had the honor to work with, but more than that he was an all around great guy,” Cassar wrote.

“He’ll be missed by his ’24’ family who had nothing but love & respect for him. You made your mark, now Rest In Peace friend,” the filmmaker went on.

His cause of death has yet to be determined.

While the veteran actor was featured in a slew of TV shows and movies, his biggest role to date was on “24” as the diabolical politician Charles Logan. His character later goes on to become President of the United States.

His “Covert Affairs” costar Sendhil Ramamurthy expressed his sadness over the annoucement of his passing today, writing on Twitter: “Nooooooo. A consummate professional and all around lovely man. Horrible news. Such a pleasure working with you Greg. Sending love to his family. RIP #CovertAffairs“

His “Nutt House” castmate Molly Hagan also shared her condolences. “The great actor Gregory Itzin has passed. My heart goes out to Judie and his kids. Funny, kind, extraordinarily talented, and a true Mensch. I first met Greg when he played the hilarious obsequious assistant manager in THE NUTT HOUSE. I’ll never forget our time together,” she posted on social media.

Itzin — who was born in Washington, DC, and raised in Wisconsin — told The Post in 2006, “As an actor who longs to be loved and approved of, I am finding this very gratifying.”

The character actor’s impressive resume also included roles on “Mentalist,” “Hannah Montana,” “Mob City,” “NCIS,” “Charlie’s Angels,” “Judging Amy,” “Friends” and “Star Trek.”

For his turn on “24” — which he starred from 2005 until 2010 — he scored two Emmy nominations for Supporting Actor in a Drama and for Guest Actor in a Drama.

Itzin was also a part of season five’s SAG Award-nominated ensemble.

He began his Hollywood career in the ’70s, as well as the early 1980s, with guest roles on productions such as “Charlie’s Angels” and “Fame.”

On the Broadway stage, Itzin appeared in the project “The Kentucky Cycle” and even earned a Tony Award nomination in 1994.

Itzin leaves behind his wife, Judie and children, Wilke and Julia.

Gentleman Jack is no more this week, as deadline reports that the HBO series has been canceled after two seasons on the air. Co-produced by BBC One, and showrun by Sally Wainright, the series aired its second season finale—which will now have to stand as the capstone on its true story of a sexually liberated lesbian smashing her way through Regency era England—a few months back.

The series starred Suranne Jones as Anne “Gentleman Jack” Lister, a British industrialist whose coded diaries, detailing her extensive romantic endeavors despite the stigma against homosexuality in 19th century England, serve as inspiration for the series. Her primary co-star was Sophie Rundle, playing Ann Walker, with whom Lister would eventually have what is considered the first lesbian marriage in the UK (Spoilers, we guess, for a now-canceled show. And also history.)

Like many shows, Gentleman Jack ran into difficulties stemming from the COVID-19 pandemic; although it picked up a renewal for a second season pretty much the moment it began running in the US, the show didn’t manage to air that second season until this year.

HBO issued a statement about the cancellation today, noting:

HBO will not be moving forward with a third season of Gentleman Jack. When we began this journey more than five years ago, we knew the series’ creator Sally Wainwright had a uniquely compelling vision, and it’s been tremendously gratifying to see how Anne Lister’s journey has resonated with viewers. We are incredibly grateful to Sally, to the impeccable Suranne Jones and Sophie Rundle, and to the entire cast and crew for bringing Anne and Ann’s story to life. We’d also like to thank our partners at BBC and Lookout Point for their collaboration on two remarkable seasons.

In addition to Jones and Rundle, the series co-starred Joe Armstrong, Amelia Bullmore, and Rosie Cavaliero.
