Tommy Fury reacts after withdrawing from Jake Paul fight

Tommy Fury once again is out of a boxing match against Jake Paul.

The undefeated boxer and half-brother of heavyweight boxing champion Tyson Fury was forced to withdraw from his fight against Paul on Aug. 6 at Madison Square Garden in New York. This marks the second time Fury has pulled out from a boxing match against the YouTube star as the two originally were supposed to fight in December 2021.

“I’m gutted and disappointed in regards to the issues I have faced with entry into the USA,” Fury wrote on Instagram. “This is something that myself or my team could have never anticipated happening. This situation has been left with my lawyers, as being denied entry to a country is obviously a very issue, and it needs to be subsequently be resolved.

“I’m confident this fight will happen when this issue gets resolved, and we come to a solution. I want to clarify that I will fight in a neutral country that both parties can enter. This can be any time, any place, any where.”

Fury’s withdrawal comes in the wake of recently being denied entry into the US Last week, Fury was held up at Heathrow Airport in London as he tried to depart for New York to attend a press conference with Paul. However, he was denied due to his family’s ties with Irish crime boss Daniel Kinahan, who is wanted by the US government.

Paul didn’t mention who he’d be fighting Aug. 6, but Sports Illustrated reports that he’s finalizing a deal to take on Hasim Rahman Jr., the last of former heavyweight champion Hasim Rahman.

Rahman Jr. is 31 years old with a 12-1 professional record. Paul, 25, is 5-0 with three of his wins over former MMA champions Tyron Woodley (twice) and Ben Askren.
