Shania Twain transformed into a very sexy Mrs. Potts as she announced her starring role in the upcoming Beauty and the Beast special on ABC on Monday.<\/p>\n

In a new photo, the Grammy Award-winning star, 57, sipped from a teacup while displaying her cleavage in a plunging hot pink blazer trouser suit, paired with matching slacks.<\/p>\n

The star wore her platinum flecked brunette tresses in a voluminous half-updo as she prepared to film her scenes as the iconic teapot character – who was famously played by Angela Lansbury in the 1991 animated film.<\/p>\n

Canadian-born singer Shania called her casting in the upcoming December show an ‘honor.’ <\/p>\n

She wrote to her fans: ‘I am unbelievably honored… and excited… and all of the emotions(!!) to announce that I will be joining the cast of #BeautyAndTheBeast30th to play the part of my favorite character – Mrs . Potts.’<\/p>\n

The country music sensation paid tribute to the original Mrs. Potts as she shouted out Angela Lansbury. <\/p>\n

‘And of course, I would be remiss if I didn’t share tribute to the iconic Angela Lansbury, I mean she IS Mrs. Potts and the reason why this character is so beloved,’ she wrote.<\/p>\n

Shania went on, ‘To follow in the footsteps of such an icon is a huge honor and I hope to do the part justice.’<\/p>\n

ABC Network tweeted out an announcement for the special as well, writing, ‘Ready for an adventure in the great wide? Martin Short, @davidalangrier, @ShaniaTwain, and more will be joining the cast of #BeautyAndTheBeast30th, airing December 15 on ABC!’<\/p>\n

Shania reposted the note in her Instagram Story on Monday afternoon.<\/p>\n

David Alan Grier will play Cogsworth, Josh Groban will play The Beast, Joshua Henry Gaston and Rita Morena will serve as the narrator of the live-action\/animated hybrid special.<\/p>\n

The special was first announced in early July, described as a, ‘two-hour animated and live-action blended special that will pay tribute to the original Disney Animation’s Beauty and the Beast and its legacy.’<\/p>\n

It will showcase ‘the fan-favorite movie, along with new memorable musical performances, taking viewers on a magical adventure through the eyes of Belle.’<\/p>\n

The original announcement also stated that the cast’s performances, ‘will be seamlessly woven through the original feature film.’<\/p>\n

The special presentation is also slated to include, ‘live never-before-seen musical performances and features brand-new sets and breathtaking costumes inspired by the classic story.’<\/p>\n

Each of the performances will ‘pay homage while also adding to the iconic story for viewers at home.’<\/p>\n

Songs from the original animated classic will be performed in front of a live audience at Disney Studios.<\/p>\n
