The team checked out of their hotel ahead of the decisive Game 5, not expecting to stay in New York another night.<\/p>\n<p>After MLB announced the postponement, Guardians players and coaches reportedly split up their stay around New York. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey had to not only check out of their hotel, come [to Yankee Stadium] with their bags, not knowing if their plane was going to back to Cleveland if they lost last night or to Houston [to face the Houston Astros in Game 1 of the ALCS] if they won,\u201d ESPN&#8217;s Eduardo Perez reported Tuesday during a live appearance on SportsCenter.<\/p>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n<p>The Yankees and Guardians finally face off in Game 5 of the ALDS. They had to go to a different hotel, yes they did and, not only that, they had to split up the groups.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Guardians players and coaches <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ZackMeisel\/status\/1582424660251070465?s=20&amp;t=tJv6u5XmyFA3aXPYcPWwJg\" target=\"_blank\">reportedly <\/a>wound up staying in Yonkers, while team officials spent the night in Midtown. <\/p>\n<p>Major League Baseball made the <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MLB_PR\/status\/1582183767740801026?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1582183767740801026%7Ctwgr%5E05cdd13ae2208b318b3b3d0abd1fc3929b14d287%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&amp;ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.iheart.com%2Fcontent%2F2022-10-18-guardians-hotel-overbooked-roster-split-up-amid-alds-game-5-postponement%2F\" target=\"_blank\">announcement<\/a> to postpone the game just after 9:30 pm ET on Monday.
