Halloween franchise stars Danielle Harris and Scout Taylor-Compton shared their negative interactions with Jamie Lee Curtis after meeting the Scream Queen for the very first time.

In the latest episode of their Talk Scary To Me podcast, Harris and Taylor-Compton detail their experiences after attending the premiere of Halloween Ends. Both actors are connected to the Halloween franchise, but they have never met Jamie Lee Curtis, who has played Laurie Strode across several installations. After the movie was screened, the pair attended an after-party for the movie, and they wanted to use the event as their chance to introduce themselves. Harris approached Curtis saying she played her character’s daughter in the fourth installment, to which the actor bluntly said, “I’ve never seen those movies, I do n’t know who you are.” Harris expected this to be followed by a “just kidding” from the Halloween mainstay but that moment never came.

RELATED: Halloween Ends Opens to Franchise Low

Taylor-Compton had a similar experience with Curtis but was unaware of what happened with Harris because of the commotion going on at the event. The actor wanted to share with Curtis how honored she was to have taken on the character of Laurie Strode in Rob Zombie’s 2007 remake and its sequel. Taylor-Compton did n’t go into detail about her encounter with the Halloween Ends sta, but while starting to cry, she said it was much like what Harris experienced. Taylor-Compton said, “We just left [the party] feeling very, very hurt.”

Harris played Jamie Lloyd, the daughter of Curtis’ Laurie Strode, in Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers and Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers. While Laurie is mentioned in the fourth movie, Curtis does not appear in the movie as it’s explained her character died in a car accident. The actor would return to the franchise in the 2007 remake, directed by Zombie, and its 2009 sequel as Annie Brackett, a role originated by Nancy Keyes in the 1978 original movie. Taylor-Compton stepped into Curtis’ shoes as Laurie in the remake as well as its follow-up.

RELATED: Stephen King Disagrees With Halloween Ends’ Bad Reviews

Curtis originated the role of Laurie Strode in 1978’s Halloween and has played the character in two different timelines. She returned again in 1981’s Halloween II1998’s Halloween H20and 2002’s Halloween: Resurrection. When director David Gordon Green and writer Danny McBride took on the franchise for Blumhouse and Universal Pictures, it was decided to ignore all the installations after the first movie. 2018’s Halloween saw the return of Curtis in the role that made her a star and served as a direct sequel to director John Carpenter’s classic. A new trilogy was established with this timeline, capped off with Halloween Ends.

Despite their experience at the premiere, they both acknowledge that Curtis had a lot going on and believe that she still deserves all the love from the fans for being the face of the franchise. Being that this was the first time they were invited to the premiere for one of the new installations, they were expecting an exciting night with their Halloween family but left the event, as they put it, “shocked and hurt” by the experience.
