the center of cheating\u2014<span>which you can catch up on here<\/span>\u2014has filed a suit in a Missouri court suing world champion Magnus Carlsen, his chess app Play Magnus, the website chess.com, chess.com&#8217;s Daniel Rensch and streamer Hikaru Nakamura for <em>$100 million<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-77igqf-0 bOfvBY\">The suit, tweeted out by Niemann earlier today, <span>can be read here<\/span>. <\/p>\n<p><span class=\"twitter-embed\"><iframe data-src=\"https:\/\/kotaku.com\/embed\/inset\/iframe?id=twitter-1583164606029365248&amp;autosize=1\" autoresize=\"true\" id=\"twitter-1583164606029365248\" data-recommended=\"false\" width=\"500\" height=\"159\" class=\"core-inset lazyload\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" allowfullscreen=\"\" webkitallowfullscreen=\"webkitAllowFullScreen\" mozallowfullscreen=\"mozallowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-77igqf-0 bOfvBY\">Niemann, the 19 year-old chess prodigy who has been accused of not just cheating but <span>cheating using <em>vibrating anal beads<\/em><\/span>in the suit says that the brand against him without merit, and world champion Carl has lashed out because he was \u201cfearful that the young prodi would blemish his multi-million his multi-million\u201d.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-77igqf-0 bOfvBY\">He also says that \u201ca flurry of independent and unbiased sources\u201d have proven he has not cheated, yet despite this \u201cCarlsen unleashed his media empire to fan the flames of Carlsen&#8217;s cheating accusations, drown out the legitimate evidence refuting them\u201d and have Niemann \u201c blacklisted\u201d from major international tournaments as part of a \u201cconspiracy\u201d.<\/p>\n<div class=\"bxm4mm-16 jvTtVq\">\n<div space.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"sc-77igqf-0 bOfvBY\">the \u201cmedia empire\u201d he&#8217;s talking about are the other parties accused in the suit;  Carlsen has his own chess app, Play Magnus, which was recently bought by Chess.com (where Niemann is now banned) for over $80 million, and for whom Rensch (who Niemann also accused of lying about cheating admissions) is chief chess officer, and Nakamura a streaming partner.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-77igqf-0 bOfvBY\">Amazingly, the suit even includes a breakdown of the context behind <span>one of the saying that he beat Carlsen fair and square, that beating Carlsen put a dent in the world champion&#8217;s personal goals and business plans, and so in retaliation Carlsen and his mates in the chess world created this cheating scandal.  And that as a result, the affair has \u201chad the desired effect of destroying Niemann&#8217;s reputation, career, and livelihood.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-77igqf-0 bOfvBY\">The suit is seeking to clear Niemann&#8217;s name, prove that \u201cdefendants made the defamatory statements with full knowledge that such statements were false\u201d, and is looking for \u201cno less than\u201d $100 million in damages.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-77igqf-0 bOfvBY\">This whole mess kicked off last month when Niemann was first accused of cheating in a match against Carlsen.  Bizarre responses from chess figures and wild social media posts eventually<span> led to the explosion of a theory that Niemann had used vibrating anal beads to cheat in matches<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-77igqf-0 bOfvBY\">Shortly afterwards, a rematch between the pair only created further drama when <span>Carlsen resigned after just a single move<\/span>then said <span>he would never play against Niemann ever again<\/span>.
