Veteran NBA referee Tony Brown passed away Thursday at the age of 55 after a battle with pancreatic cancer, Yahoo Sports reported.<\/p>\n
Brown had officiated over 1,100 regular season games and 25 playoff games in 17 seasons, according to the National Basketball Referees Association. He worked one game in the 2020 NBA Finals.<\/p>\n
\u201cTony Brown was one of the most accomplished referees in the NBA and an inspiration to his colleagues,\u201d NBA Commissioner Adam Silver said in a statement.<\/p>\n
Brown was diagnosed with the disease in April 2021.<\/p>\n
