{"id":103329,"date":"2022-10-21T02:37:05","date_gmt":"2022-10-21T02:37:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/harchi90.com\/trailer-released-for-pittsburgh-area-filmed-tom-hanks-movie-a-man-called-otto\/"},"modified":"2022-10-21T02:37:05","modified_gmt":"2022-10-21T02:37:05","slug":"trailer-released-for-pittsburgh-area-filmed-tom-hanks-movie-a-man-called-otto","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/harchi90.com\/trailer-released-for-pittsburgh-area-filmed-tom-hanks-movie-a-man-called-otto\/","title":{"rendered":"Trailer released for Pittsburgh-area filmed Tom Hanks movie &#8216;A Man Called Otto&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"storyContent\">\n<p>A trailer for the filmed-in-Pittsburgh Tom Hanks movie, \u201cA Man Called Otto,\u201d was released Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>The movie, filmed at numerous locations across the Pittsburgh region, will be released in New York and Los Angeles on Christmas and will go into wide release, including Pittsburgh, on Jan.  13, said Joe Fucci with Allied Global Marketing.<\/p>\n<p>The movie has not yet been rated.<\/p>\n<p>In the Alle-Kiski Valley, scenes were filmed at St.  Thomas Episcopal Church in Oakmont in March and in April at Simpson Reinforcing in Arnold.<\/p>\n<p>Other filming locations include Sewickley Cemetery, Pittsburgh Theological Seminary, Merchant Street in Ambridge, Monroeville Senior Citizens Center, North Park and Max&#8217;s Allegheny Tavern.<\/p>\n<p>While filming was underway, Hanks was spotted throughout the region.  He showed up in a wedding photo outside the Fairmont Pittsburgh hotel and officiated a wedding in a couple&#8217;s home in Bellevue.<\/p>\n<p>He waved at 2-year-old Charles Glass while filming in Ambridge.  Charles&#8217; home overlooks part of Merchant Street where filming was taking place.<\/p>\n<p><div class=\"ast-oembed-container\" style=\"height: 100%;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"A MAN CALLED OTTO - Official Trailer (HD)\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/eFYUX9l-m5I?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/p>\n<p>The movie tells the story of Otto Anderson, portrayed by Hanks, a grumpy widower who is set in his ways.  When a young family moves in next door, Otto meets his match in quick-witted Marisol, leading to an unlikely friendship that turns his world upside down.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is exciting to see &#8216;Man Called Otto&#8217; arrive on the big screens soon,\u201d said Dawn Keezer, director of the Pittsburgh Film Office.  \u201cThe filming was a wonderful experience for the region. We hope so!\u201d  Keezer said.<\/p>\n<p>Directed by Marc Forster, whose credits include \u201cFinding Neverland,\u201d the movie also stars Mariana Trevino (\u201cClub de Cuervos\u201d);  Rachel Keller (\u201cFargo\u201d), and Manuel Garcia-Rulfo (\u201cThe Magnificent Seven\u201d).<\/p>\n<p>The screenplay is written by Academy Award nominee David Magee (Best Adapted Screenplay, \u201cLife of Pi,\u201d 2012; Best Adapted Screenplay, \u201cFinding Neverland,\u201d 2004) and based upon the 2012 novel \u201cA Man Called Ove\u201d by Fredrik Backman.<\/p>\n<p>The film also is based on the 2015 Swedish film written and directed by Hannes Holm.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA Man Called Otto\u201d is being produced by Hanks, Rita Wilson, Gary Goetzman and Fredrik Wikstrom Nicastro.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p style=\"font-style: italic;\">Brian C.
