She said, Sawyer reminded Perry, \u201cWe know you&#8217;re drinking.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n<p>\tPerry confirmed the incident. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n<p>\t\u201cImagine how scary a moment that was,\u201d he said.  \u201cShe was the one who reached out the most, you know.  I&#8217;m really grateful to her for that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n<p>\tPerry has been forthcoming on his struggles with addiction.  The actor tells all in a new book, <em>Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing: A Memoir<\/em>, which comes out Nov.  one.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n<p>\tPerry told <em>people<\/em> earlier that he was in the early stages of alcoholism when <em>friends<\/em> began.  That problem grew worse in the ensuing years, to the point where four years ago, his colon burst from using opioids.  Perry was in a coma for two weeks, hospitalized for five, and wore a colostomy bag for nine months.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n<p>\tThe clip reveals Perry telling Sawyer that he also was once taking \u201c55 Vicodin a day,\u201d as well as Methadone, Xanax and a full quart of vodka.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n<p>\t\u201cAt the time, I should have been the toast of the town,\u201d Perry said.
