Fresh off the bye week, No. 2 Ohio State returns to action on Saturday, looking to kick off the second half of the season the same way the Buckeyes ended the first half: with a win. A 6-0 Ohio State team that may boast the most impressive team in the country this year welcomes 3-3 Iowa to Columbus.

The Hawkeyes’ calling card is on defense, where they are the best in the country. On the flip side, Ohio State is the country’s best offense with so many weapons available.

How will this game go on Saturday afternoon? Let’s dive into that and more in this week’s Bucknuts Roundtable.

1) The second half of the season commences this week for Ohio State. What are your thoughts as to where the team stands coming out of the first six games?

Dave Biddle: I’m pleased with where they are at overall. The two biggest questions entering the season were could the defense play at a “Silver Bullets” level and could OSU run the ball when they needed to. Check and check thus far. My only concern about the team is injuries, but I still believe the Buckeyes are the best team in the nation this season.

Dan Rubin: At the risk of being hyperbolic, the combination of how Ohio State has looked and how the rest of the field looks this is the most optimistic I’ve been about ending the Natty drought.

Steve Helwagen: Well, I’ve had them No. 1 in my Football Writers weekly poll ballot all season, so I must think pretty highly of this team. They have the single best unit of any team in the country with their offense. And their defense, while largely untested by some terrible offenses, has also made a big jump from a year ago. They are sitting good, but the real games begin now.
