Alabama just wrapped up a convincing 30-6 homecoming win over Mississippi State and Nick Saban is here to discuss the action.<\/p>\n

— Saban said he challenged the team with how they’d respond to last week. He said he was pleased with the competition, \u201cwasn’t always perfect execution\u201d but he said they played loose and had fun.<\/p>\n
— It was a start toward building the chemistry going heading into the bye week.<\/p>\n
— Saban said it was a good week of prep and it showed.<\/p>\n
— Alabama adjusted after MSU came out running on the dime package. He wasn’t going to complain with the defensive performance that allowed six points. \u201cI’d let the team run all day long if they only score six points.\u201d<\/p>\n
— Eli Ricks had a great week of prep and it paid off in his first start of the season.<\/p>\n
— On the Jermaine Burton incident, Saban said he is in a counseling program that’s not anger management. \u201cI didn’t think it was necessary to suspend the guy.\u201d He said if you knew the full story, you wouldn’t either but he also said he wasn’t going to explain it.<\/p>\n
— \u201cWe didn’t play very well, with consistency on offense,\u201d Saban said. That hurt their ability to run play action but said Bryce Young could use some rest on his shoulder on the off week.<\/p>\n
— On the passing game, Saban said MSU did a good job with mixing up pressures, dropping eight guys. Saban liked some of the scramble plays that led to a few of the bigger plays. He said the WRs are “playing better.”<\/p>\n
