Matthew Perry is opening up about his decades-long battle with addiction, and how Jennifer Aniston was the friend who really stepped-up and intervened. <\/p>\n

The revelations are coming in his upcoming memoir, \u201cFriends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing,\u201d and an interview with Diane Sawyer set to air on ABC on Friday, Oct. 28.<\/p>\n

In a sneak peak of Sawyer’s interview with Perry, the 53-year-old “Friends” star details his substance issues like never before.<\/p>\n

\u201cSecrets kill you,\u201d Perry said in the preview clip, obtained by E! news. \u201cSecrets kill people like me.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAt the time I should have been the toast of the town,\u201d he added. \u201cI was in a dark room meeting nothing but drug dealers and completely alone.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sawyer lists “methadone, Xanax, full quart of vodka” as Perry’s drugs and booze of choice, before he adds “55 Vicodin a day.” <\/p>\n

Later in the preview clip, Perry is asked about Aniston, who he calls Jenny, detailing a confrontation the two had at the height of his addiction.<\/p>\n

Sawyer quotes Aniston as saying: \u201cWe know you’re drinking.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cImagine how scary a moment that was,\u201d Perry responds.<\/p>\n

Perry added that Aniston’s support was desperately needed in his recovery journey. \u201cShe was the one that reached out the most,\u201d he said, adding, \u201cI’m really grateful to her for that.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
