Not all 30 million players were in a game, as many could have been browsing the store, chatting in communities, and more.<\/p>\n<p><output class=\"widget-container\"><button type=\"button\" style=\"display:none\" class=\"jsx-3968970857\"\/><\/p>\n<div class=\"jsx-862123036 slideshow-preview\">\n<p>The Best PC Games<\/p>\n<div class=\"jsx-862123036 images-container\"><button type=\"button\" aria-label=\"Open Slideshow\" class=\"jsx-862123036 hero-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\n\n<h2>The Best Modern PC Games<\/h2>\n<h3>(July 2022 Update)<\/h3>\n<p>The PC gaming landscape has shifted in recent years, both in terms of technological advancements in graphics cards and gaming monitors and in the makeup of IGN&#8217;s PC gaming staff and contributors.  As a result, outside of some real stalwarts, our list of the best modern PC games is substantially different compared to years past.  <\/p>\n<p> To be clear, this list does not attempt to pick out the \u201cbest\u201d or \u201cmost influential\u201d PC games ever made.  It&#8217;s also not a list of the most popular games out there, or a list that seeks to represent the top games of every genre. Dota 2&#8217;s peak was around 750,000, and then there was a decent dropoff as the next highest was PUBG&#8217;s 442,148 peak.<\/p>\n<p>Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, Steam has seen it record of concurrent users get broken over and over again.  Over Thanksgiving weekend 2021, the peak was at 27.3 million and a few months later it saw that number reach 28 million.  It has fluctuated between those numbers, but this is the first time it has crossed the 30 million mark.<\/p>\n<section data-transform=\"object-feedback\"\/>\n<p>With Steam Decks becoming more readily available and Cyberpunk 2077 having a bit of a renaissance where over one million players were jumping into Night City each day, Steam has had some high highs these past few months.<\/p>\n<p><output class=\"widget-container\"><button type=\"button\" style=\"display:none\" class=\"jsx-3968970857\"\/><\/p>\n<div class=\"jsx-862123036 slideshow-preview\">\n<p>The 10 Best Steam Deck Games<\/p>\n<div class=\"jsx-862123036 images-container\"><button type=\"button\" aria-label=\"Open Slideshow\" class=\"jsx-862123036 hero-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"The Steam Deck is a powerful little handheld capable of playing a lot of amazing games.  OK, well it's not that little, but it makes up for its bulky size with sheer power and Steam's endless library of software.  For our Top 10 Steam Deck Games list, we wanted to set up a few parameters for our recommendations, including the kind of games it's capable of running, how well it runs them, and portability.  \n\n Sure, you can run games like Vampire Survivors or Tunic on it, and we&#8217;ve sunk our fair share of hours into each, but part of the spectacle is that the Steam Deck can run huge triple-A games on the go.  There are a few caveats, of course.  Some of these games are pretty massive in file size or require an initial internet connection, and even some mild tweaking in the settings to get running well, but hey, it wouldn&#8217;t be PC gaming without those things after all.
