The first trailer for <em>Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania <\/em>reveals the plot of the third installation in the <em>Ant-Man <\/em>series, which also initiates Phase 5 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.  And it features the big-screen debut of the villain who will change the course of Marvel multiverse: Kang, played by the heavy-hitting Jonathan Majors.<\/p>\n<p>The fun&#8230; uh, make that <em>trouble <\/em>begins when Scott&#8217;s daughter, Cassie (Kathryn Newton), develops a beacon that&#8217;s capable of signaling the Quantum Realm, the tinier-than-tiny dimension that&#8217;s been nothing but bad news for their allies, the Van Dyne family.  That&#8217;s where Janet (Michelle Pfeiffer) was imprisoned for decades while her husband, Hank (Michael Douglas) and daughter Hope aka The Wasp (Evangeline Lilly) gave her up for lost.<\/p>\n<p>Small wonder that Janet looks positively horrified when she learns of Cassandra&#8217;s invention.  And those fears turn out to be well-founded when the device promptly sucks them all into the Quantum Realm with no way back to terra firma.  Now they have to negotiate their way through a dangerous landscape populated by new foes and friends, including a yet-to-be-named character played by Bill Murray \u2014 who makes a prominent appearance in the trailer on the heels of real-world of feature misconduct on the set of a different movie.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"caas-figure\">\n<div style=\"\">\n<div>\n<div class=\"caas-img-container caas-img-loader noheight\"><noscript><img alt=\"Paul Rudd as Scott Lang\/Ant-Man and Kathryn Newton as Cassandra \" src=\"https:\/\/s.yimg.com\/ny\/api\/res\/1.2\/WkWjDMMaCcMU9VJ976KT6A--\/YXBwaWQ9aGlnaGxhbmRlcjt3PTk2MA--\/https:\/\/s.yimg.com\/os\/creatr-uploaded-images\/2022-10\/d4292980-53ca-11ed-9bfb-ced2be721843\" class=\"caas-img\"\/><\/noscript><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><figcaption class=\"caption-collapse\">Paul Rudd as Ant-Man and Kathryn Newton as Cassie in <em>Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania<\/em>. While in the Quantum Realm, Scott and Cassie cross paths with Kang, who MCU fans previously met in the Season 1 finale of <em>Loki<\/em> in one of his other multiversal identities.  And he&#8217;s got an offer the heroes may not be able to refuse, especially as Scott&#8217;s life appears to be in danger.  &#8220;I can get you home,&#8221; says Kang.  &#8220;And give you more time \u2014 if you help me. So, what&#8217;s it going to be Ant-Man?&#8221;  Needless to say, he makes the idea of \u200b\u200b&#8221;help&#8221; sound pretty sinister.<\/p>\n<p><button class=\"link caas-button collapse-button\" aria-label=\"\" title=\"\" data-ylk=\"elm:readmore;slk:Story continues\">Story continues<\/button><\/p>\n<p>Having assisted in saving the world in <em>Avengers: Endgame<\/em>, it&#8217;s a particularly cruel twist of fate that Ant-Man may now be dooming it.  Looking ahead in the MCU timeline, we&#8217;ll be seeing <em>Avengers: The Kang Dynasty <\/em>in 2025, which means the foundations of that dynasty are laid here.
