Armie Hammer has been sued by American Express over an unpaid balance of almost $67,000.<\/p>\n

The Los Angeles native, 36, according to TMZ, has held the credit card account since 2011.<\/p>\n

Hammer shared the account with his estranged wife Elizabeth Chambers, 40, a source told the outlet, and the issue is expected to be settled when the couple finalizes their divorce.<\/p>\n

The latest: Armie Hammer, 36, has been sued by American Express over an unpaid balance of almost $67,000. He was pictured in November of 2020 in LA <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Hammer, known for his performances in films such as Call Me By Your Name, The Man from UNCLE and The Lone Ranger, fell into controversy in early 2021 amid multiple accusations of sex abuse and a stated penchant for cannibalism.<\/p>\n

He was subsequently dropped from his agency WME and lost a number of roles he had on tap, including the Jennifer Lopez movie Shotgun Wedding and the Paramount Plus series The Offer.<\/p>\n

The actor’s finances came into question when he was seen was making ends meet earlier this year working as a timeshare salesman in the Cayman Islands, as in July, an insider told Variety that Hammer was bankrupt. <\/p>\n

Hammer was ‘working at a cubicle,’ the source said, adding, ‘The reality is he’s totally broke, and is trying to fill the days and earn money to support his family.’<\/p>\n

He was spotted in Los Angeles in the months since departing the islands. <\/span><\/p>\n

According to the source, Hammer, who is the great-grandson of oil tycoon Armand Hammer (worth an estimated $800 million at the time of his death), ‘is not on the family payroll’ and has been forced to work a regular job after his Hollywood downfall, following sexual assault made against him last year. <\/p>\n

After the accusations were made public, the actor was dropped by his agency, WME, and was subsequently let go from various film projects, including Paramount Plus series The Offer (with Miles Teller taking over his role), Jennifer Lopez’s Shotgun Wedding, as well as the thriller Billion Dollar Spy.<\/p>\n

In July, photos of the Call Me By Your Name star going into Morritt’s Resort office in what appeared to be a staffer uniform emerged, despite his lawyer previously denying claims that he’d taken up a new career. <\/p>\n

They were followed by photos of him taken inside of the office on another day, once again wearing a similar blue polo shirt while reportedly going over pricing for a unit with a couple of potential buyers. <\/p>\n

TMZ reported at the time that during the pitch Hammer offered the potential buyers a timeshare for $2,020 per week or, ‘only about $21,000 for ten years of vacations.’<\/p>\n

Last Wednesday, his attorney denied that the disgraced star was working at the establishment, following a viral Tweet that showed his face on a pamphlet as concierge for the hotel. <\/p>\n

His lawyer, Andrew Brettler, told Variety that the post was nothing more than a prank done by Hammer’s friends from the hotel.<\/p>\n

The since-deleted tweet’s caption read: ‘My friend’s parents went on vacation in the Cayman Islands and Armie Hammer was their concierge.’<\/p>\n

The pamphlet included discount vouchers and advertised that Hammer would take guests to swim ‘with wild turtles’ and point them to the ‘best snorkeling and diving spots.’<\/p>\n

He and his wife announced they were separating a few months before, after Hammer was allegedly caught cheating on her a second time.<\/p>\n

That woman also alleges Armie emotionally abused her, although he’s denied all suggestions of criminality.<\/p>\n

Hammer checked into rehab for treatment of ‘drugs, alcohol and sex’ issues in May 2021, and emerged from treatment in December last year.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
