A thrilling 45-38 victory over Florida (6-6) on Friday evening has put No. 16 Florida State (9-3) in position for the program’s first 10-win season since 2016.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Mike Norwell<\/b> and his staff are rebuilding the Tallahassee-based program and the fans are reinvigorated, evident inside Doak Campbell Stadium for this one where a raucous crowd created a terrific home-field advantage throughout.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

\u201cI’m more excited about the program than I have ever been,\u201d Albany (Ga.) Dougherty 247Sports Composite five-star running back and 2024 FSU commit Cameron Davis<\/b> said. \u201cThis year’s team have really climbed which is the word of the year. I definitely think that in the years coming we will be back to the best historical franchise of all-time! The work that team puts in and the dedication the coaching staff have built into the team will forever be there.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat energy and atmosphere at the game tonight was like no other. A big rivalry game with a bunch of ups and downs. The band started it off first with a battle and the beefy rose from there.\u201d<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Davis is the jewel of a 2024 class ranked No. 4 by the 247Sports Composite early in the cycle. Norvell and company have put together a recruiting class in 2023 that currently stands in at No. 17 as they bring in talent to help the program build on this campaign for years to come.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Jacksonville (Fla.) Westside Top247 defensive lineman Jordan Hall<\/b> was the headliner on campus as FSU battles the Gators and Georgia for his signature. Coveted JUCO offensive lineman Keyshawn Blackstock<\/b> was on campus Fulton (Miss.) Itawamba Agricultural four-star safety Isaac Smith<\/b> is taking his official visit this weekend and he’s impressed thus far with what he’s seen this weekend from the Seminoles program. Norvell would love to flip Top247 receiver and Wake Forest commit Micah Mays<\/b> as well.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

A strong group of 2024 and 2025 prospects soaked in the vibes as well as Florida State closes the regular season winning five in a row.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

\u201cThe environment from the game was crazy,\u201d Tampa (Fla.) Catholic 2024 receiver Terrance Moore<\/b> said. \u201cI’m not sure if it was the fact that it was a rivalry game or what. I see an exciting future for the Seminoles.\u201d<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

\u201cThe atmosphere was insane,\u201d Navarre (Fla.) High 2024 linebacker Zavier Hamilton<\/b> said. \u201cIt is one of the best I’ve ever been so far this year. I think FSU has made huge leaps and bounds in the right direction, they have continually improved in every game and continue to build on what they could do better.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe atmosphere in Doak every game is always high and loud,\u201d North Fort Myers (Fla.) 2024 receiver Jaiden Jones<\/b> said. \u201cEverything from the band to the fans is amazing. Can’t even hear the person right next to you. The rivalry games are always the loudest and the fans are always the most hype. Coach Norway definitely impacted this team a lot and you can see it on the field and off the field. All the guys trying to help the man next to them be great and it’s a really great thing to see. I love everything about the program FSU has from the game of football to the lifelong brotherhood they have. That’s just something that means a lot to me. FSU’s coaching staff has done an amazing job with the student-athletes they have and it shows on the field. I love everything about FSU and the route they’re on to becoming better every single day.\u201d<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

\u201cThat was one of the most electrifying atmospheres I’ve experienced this year,\u201d Tupelo (Miss.) Itawamba Agricultural offensive tackle Isaiah Autry<\/b> said. \u201cAnother exciting thing about the weekend was the big-time connection you felt from the coaches and the fans. <\/span>Coach Norway seems to have the program growing into a championship form.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cOne of the craziest things I have ever witnessed,\u201d New Orleans (La.) St. Augustine 2024 tight end Hubert Caliste Jr.<\/b> said. \u201cA lot of excitement and pride was in the atmosphere tonight. I believe FSU has the best fans in the nation. Excited on getting back up here in the future.\u201d<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

\u201cThe environment was nice and loud and surreal where the fans showed a lot of love for the team,\u201d Hiram (Ga.) High 2024 offensive lineman Clint Richards<\/b> said. \u201cIt’s easily one of the best game I been too. I like the atmosphere and environment and the colors and the tradition.\u201d<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Trey Benson’s third touchdown run of the night with just over four minutes to go was the game-winning score. Quarterback Jordan Travis<\/b> had 270 yards passing and a touchdown and several thrilling scrambles leading to two more rushing scores. Florida was driving for the potential game-tying score with under a minute to go but the FSU defense held up and got pressure on quarterback Anthony Richardson<\/b> forcing a wild incompletion to end the threat.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe atmosphere inside Doak was electric!\u201d Miami (Fla.) Belen Jesuit defensive lineman Davion Dixon<\/b> said. \u201cI’ve never experienced a game like this before. FSU\/UF is the great rivalry in college football, I’ve come to really appreciate this game over the years. I’m very thankful to have had the opportunity to attend and I always enjoy seeing and speaking to the coaches and fellow recruits. I’m really excited about the direction of this program under Coach Norway. <\/span>He’s a great coach and you can tell he really cares about his players and the entire FSU community. It looks like he’s changed the culture in Tallahassee and the players are really committed. We’re hoping to see him play again this year, maybe in the Orange Bowl.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe atmosphere was unbelievable especially on the last defensive series!\u201d Folkston (Ga.) Charlton County Top247 edge rusher Elis Williams<\/b> said. He is the No. 12 overall prospect in the 2025 class. \u201cI’m excited to see FSU going up like they’re use to what Coach Norway is doing great over in Tallahassee. I plan to comeback to FSU soon. FSU is climbing back up!\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe atmosphere was electric,\u201d Prosper (Texas) Rock Hill quarterback Kevin Sperry<\/b> said. \u201cThe fans were very engaged and loud throughout the whole game. I think Coach Norway is doing great things and you can tell that his players will fight until the end for him. The team is battle tested and laying a strong foundation to bring back championships to Tallahassee.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe atmosphere tonight was big, big loud and exciting,\u201d Pensacola (Fla.) Catholic Top247 2025 receiver Koby Howard<\/b> said. \u201cThis the type of game that gives me goosebumps. FSU looks really good. l really like the direction they are headed in. They are playing really physical and with a lot of heart. They (were) not backing down either. They also played physical and with heart! Travis played his butt off tonight. I think they are poised to make a playoff run next season if they keep playing like this! Big-time win for the Noles! It’s too lit out here!\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe energy inside the stadium is mayhem,\u201d Sanford (Fla.) Seminole offensive lineman Max Buchanan<\/b> said. \u201cLoved getting a chance to see some of the long-time traditions the fans have here. I’m very excited about the direction the program is going. I really think these offensive line coaches are taking these guys all the way in the near future.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was crazy,\u201d Brentwood (Tenn.) Academy Top247 2025 quarterback George MacIntyre<\/b> said. \u201cThey have a very unique environment with the Tomahawk Chop and the ongoing band. And it wasn’t just the fourth quarter it was the whole game.\u201d<\/p>\n
