NASHville, Tenn. — Coming off an ugly loss that ended Tennessee’s hopes of reaching the College Football Playoff, the 10th-ranked Vols didn’t have any trouble bouncing back Saturday night and ending their regular season in style. In their first game since star quarterback Hendon Hooker’s season-ending injury, they pulled away to a comfortable lead over in-state rival Vanderbilt in the first half and turned the game into a blowout, cruising to a 56-0 rout of the Commodores at FirstBank Stadium.

Tennessee (10-2, 6-2 SEC) built a 21-0 advantage by halftime and cruised in the second half with the help of a few long touchdown runs. The Vols finished with 513 yards of total offense, including 362 rushing yards, preventing Vanderbilt (5-7, 2-6) from becoming bowl-eligible coming off back-to-back wins over Florida and Kentucky.
