Earlier, Costa Rica beat Japan in a Group E battle, while Morocco beat Belgium and Croatia beat Canada in a pair of Group F matches.<\/p>\n

After Spain goalkeeper Unai Simon presumably kicked the ball to Serge Gnabry by accident, the Germany forward attempted a shot that was a little wide to the left.<\/p>\n

36′ – Get out of here!<\/strong><\/p>\n

It has been a tightly contested match, exhibited by Germany midfielder Jamal Musiala halting this shot attempt from Spain forward Ferran Torres.<\/p>\n

40′ – Goal overturned<\/strong><\/p>\n

Germany defender Antonio Rudiger knocked in a header. After a VAR check, though, he was ruled offside. The match went into halftime with no score.<\/p>\n

Setting the stage<\/strong><\/p>\n

Spain is aiming to win its first two games at the World Cup for the first time since 2006 after crushing Costa Rica in its opener Wednesday, 7-0.<\/p>\n

On the other side, Germany is aiming to bounce back after a 2-1 loss to Japan in its opener earlier this week.<\/p>\n
