Avon (Ohio) High Top247 2024 offensive lineman Luke Hamilton attended Michigan’s victory at Ohio State on Saturday and he found himself pulling for the road team.

He saw Wolverines offensive coordinator Sherrone Moore walking out of the tunnel and thought “let’s get it! Bury them! Put them to sleep!”

The third-ranked Maize and Blue did just that, blowing out the second-ranked Buckeyes 45-23, and Hamilton is now signed up to help the Big Ten powerhouse try and do that for years to come.

“Last night I called Coach Moore and told him I’d be committing and told him I’d announce today,” Hamilton told 247Sports. “Last night really was when I broke the news to Coach Moore.”

Tabbed by the Top247 as the nation’s No. 8 offensive tackle and No. 170 prospect overall, the 6-foot-5, 290-pound Hamilton becomes commit No. 3 for head coaches Jim Harbaugh and his staff in this 2024 cycle.

Hamilton was in Ann Arbor for Michigan’s victory over Michigan State and had been trending towards a future wearing the winged helmet for a while.

“Last night, watching them do something like that to a team with such success kind of pushed me over the edge to do it and I’m not looking back,” Hamilton said.

“The past two years they’ve been on the uprise. Of course they’ve always been a top-tier program. They’ve been pushing the past few years. They’re going to be a team nobody wants to mess with. They’re going to be that Bama, They’re going to be a high-level team nobody wants to play and be scared of.”

Hamilton said he also strongly considered Michigan State among others, but his relationship with Moore and the love he always felt when visiting Michigan couldn’t be topped.

“Coach Moore would always text and call me and say ‘dude we want you here.’ I think Michigan has been really consistent with reaching out and making me feel at home there.”

Hamilton joins a Michigan class that already included four-star linebacker Mason Curtis and defensive lineman Manual Beigel. Cincinnati, Penn State and Tennessee were among the other offers for Hamilton.
