The 6-4, 245 pounder has been in the transfer portal for a while, and UCLA offered him last week. He’ll be a graduate transfer in 2023, with one more year of eligibility remaining. The 2023 football season would be his sixth year of college eligibility. He has offers from UNC Charlotte and Ohio.

For the 2022 season, Heimlicher he had 47 tackles, 13 tackles for loss and 9 sacks, both of which led the Ivy League, while in 2021 he recorded 12.5 tackles for loss and 7.5 sacks.

Heimlicher is originally from Colorado, rated a two-star prospect out of high school, when he weighed 210 pounds, but he has obviously bulked up in the meantime.

He is the first transfer commitment of the 2023 recruiting cycle for UCLA. Last offseason UCLA signed 12 transfers, and will be shooting this year for at least that, possibly 15 or more. The transfer portal re-opens this Monday, and stays open for a “window” of 45 days.
