Internationally, Violent Night added another $7.05 million, which helped its global total for the weekend reach $20.35 million. <\/p>\n<p>Violent Night only cost $20 million to produce, so it&#8217;s well on its way to recouping its cost and making a profit. <\/p>\n<p>In our Violent Night review, we said that it &#8220;brings the Christmas spirit to a gore-first action flick that delivers what&#8217;s advertised thanks to a top-form David Harbor.&#8221;<\/p>\n<section data-transform=\"object-feedback\"\/>\n<p>Strange World placed third with $4.9 million, which was a 60% drop from its disappointing $12 million debut.  The latest Disney animated film has brought in $25.5 million domestically and $42.3 million globally, which is a long way from its $200 million production budget.<\/p>\n<p><output class=\"article-video-container\"\/><\/p>\n<p>The Menu and Devotion rounded out the top five, earning $3.6 million and $2.8 million, respectively. <\/p>\n<p>As the box office stays a bit quiet until Avatar: The Way of Water, now is a perfect time to get in the holiday spirit by checking out our top picks for the best Christmas horror movies, the top 25 holiday movies of all time, and the best Christmas movies and TV episodes of the 2000s. <\/p>\n<p><em>Have a tip for us?
