{"id":150038,"date":"2022-12-06T19:49:02","date_gmt":"2022-12-06T19:49:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/harchi90.com\/mills-lane-legendary-boxing-referee-dead-at-85\/"},"modified":"2022-12-06T19:49:02","modified_gmt":"2022-12-06T19:49:02","slug":"mills-lane-legendary-boxing-referee-dead-at-85","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/harchi90.com\/mills-lane-legendary-boxing-referee-dead-at-85\/","title":{"rendered":"Mills Lane, legendary boxing referee, dead at 85"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p>Mills Lane, the legendary boxing referee famous for using the phrase \u201cLet&#8217;s get it on,\u201d has died at 85 years old.<\/p>\n<p>Lane&#8217;s son, Tommy, told the Reno Gazette Journal that his father, who said a stroke 20 years ago, had been in hospice for the last week.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe took a significant decline in his overall situation,\u201d Tommy Lane told the outlet.  \u201cIt was a quick departure.  He was comfortable and he was surrounded by his family.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><figcaption>Famous boxing ref Mills Lane is dead at 85.<\/figcaption><figcaption><span class=\"credit\">Getty Images<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Lane&#8217;s wife, Kay, and sons Tommy and Terry were at his side.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou never knew how long he had.
