Due to a production cost of $195 million, a reported marketing budget of between $80 and $100 million, and the fact that movie theaters keep around half the ticket sale revenues, Black Adam could stand to lose between $50 and $100 million at the box office <\/p>\n<p>Variety reported that Black Adam will ultimately break even at $600 million, but sources at Warner Bros.  dispute this number and said that it&#8217;s actually $425 million.  IGN understands that Black Adam is ultimately expected to break even.<\/p>\n<p><output class=\"widget-container\"><button type=\"button\" style=\"display:none\" class=\"jsx-3968970857\"\/><\/p>\n<div class=\"jsx-3733722558 slideshow-preview\">\n<p>The DC Movies in (Chronological) Order<\/p>\n<div class=\"jsx-3733722558 images-container\"><button type=\"button\" aria-label=\"Open Slideshow\" class=\"jsx-3733722558 hero-image\"><button class=\"jsx-1599603317 button button--secondary-alt jsx-337917361 row-pagination-button next contained centered round xlarge\" type=\"button\" title=\"Open Slideshow\"\/><\/button><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><\/output><\/p>\n<p>Black Adam started strong during its first weekend, earning $140 million globally.  The film saw a sharp 59% decline in its second weekend but still held on to win the box office. <\/p>\n<section data-transform=\"object-feedback\"\/>\n<p>It&#8217;s not just Black Adam that&#8217;s struggled at the box office lately.  Disney&#8217;s big animated feature Strange World saw a disappointing $12 million debut and followed it up with a 60% drop to $4.9 million. <\/p>\n<p>We weren&#8217;t fans of Black Adam in our review, where we said, &#8220;Black Adam overindulges to the point where it&#8217;s hard to enjoy the DC anti-hero&#8217;s debut.&#8221;  If you&#8217;re interested in seeing Black Adam but don&#8217;t want to go to a theater, you can already rent the movie online for $20. <\/p>\n<p>Black Adam will likely be most remembered for bringing Henry Cavill&#8217;s Superman back to the DCEU.
