Proceed at your own risk!<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n When Chicago Med<\/em> showrunners Andrew Schneider and Diane Frolov set out to craft Dr. Ethan Choi’s exit storyline, they knew it needed one thing: his ex-girlfriend April Sexton.<\/p>\n After many seasons of ups and downs, including the somewhat abrupt departure of April’s portrayer Yaya DaCosta at the conclusion of Season 6, giving a happy ending to \u201cChexton\u201d was at top of mind.<\/p>\n \u201cWe really wanted to close their story [and] their journey that they’ve gone on all these years. We really wanted closure for that,\u201d Frolov says. And not just any kind of closure, but \u201csatisfactory closure,\u201d Schneider adds.<\/p>\n
