The Huskers’ new defensive coordinator will be Tony White and the offensive line coach will be Donovan Raiola.This comes after Rhule’s first six hires: offensive coordinator Marcus Satterfield, EJ Barthel, running backs; Corey Campbell, head football strength and conditioning; Evan Cooper, secondary; Ed Foley, special teams coordinator; and Terrance Knighton, defensive line.Raiola is entering his second season as a Nebraska assistant coach, but White’s hiring is pending a university background check.”Both Tony and Donovan were outstanding players at the highest level of college football, and also have professional playing experience. Their success has carried into their respective coaching careers. I look forward to them developing the players in our program and helping bring the nation’s top talent to Nebraska,” Rhule said in a statement.White spent the previous three seasons as Syracuse’s defensive coordinator , leading the team to top-30 defensive efforts in 2021 and 2022 \u2014 the school’s best defensive effort in a decade.Before Syracuse, White spent two seasons with Arizona State. He coordinated defense in their 2019 Sun Bowl victory and helped the Sun Devils climb 50 spots in NCAA pass-defense rankings. From 2009 to 2017, White took San Diego State University to eight bowl games and won three Mountain West Conference titles (2012, 2015, 2016).He played for UCLA from 1997 to 2000 before a four-year career in the Canadian Football League. This will be Raiola’s second season as the Huskers’ offensive line coach. Raiola has 12 overall years of coaching experience \u2014 four of those years as an NFL offensive line coach for the Chicago Bears. Collegiately, Raiola has coached at Aurora University, Notre Dame and Hawaii. He was also a three-time All-Big Ten selection at Wisconsin before professionally playing for six seasons in the NFL.\n\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n
