EAST RUTHERFORD — The Philadelphia Eagles and New York Giants are underway at MetLife Stadium as the NFC East rivals square off for the first time this year. New York needs an upset victory to stay on top of Washington and Seattle in the NFC playoff race while Philadelphia is looking to wrap up a playoff berth — the fifth time in the last six years the Eagles would qualify for the postseason.

Philadelphia is off to an 11-1 start, the best in franchise history as the Eagles look to start 12-1 for the first time since the 2004 season. New York is off to a 7-4-1 start, but the Giants haven’t won in three games and only have one victory in their last five contests. Sunday is the first time both teams will meet with seven wins or more since December 19, 2010 — also when “Miracle at the Meadowlands III” occurred (DeSean Jackson walk-off punt return touchdown).

The Giants got some good news prior to inactives being released as Saquon Barkley will play today. Originally questionable with a neck injury, Barkley will give it a go on this chilly day with the game-time temperature below 40 degrees. Barkley has just 144 rushing yards and 2.8 yards per carry over his last three games.
