In case anyone was wondering, Prince Harry has “absolutely no regrets” about his and Meghan Markle’s Netflix docuseries, Harry & Meghan.

The negative response to the series has been very predictable. Royal commentators who think Harry and Meghan are The Absolute Worst™ for leaving their posts as working royals and then having the audacity to speak candidly about why they made that decision are disgusted. Royal family sources are suggesting they’re extremely *not happy* about the series (although they aren’t expected to go on the record about that).

The point is, none of the backlash to Harry & Meghan is surprising at all. Less predictable was how Harry might feel about the series, especially considering the flurry of reports after the Queen’s death this fall suggesting that he was “desperate” to make changes to the show and his upcoming memoir, spare.

Now, a source described as being “close to the prince” has weighed in on how he feels about the finished product (or at least the first three episodes of it), and it sounds like he feels pretty damn amazing about it.

The source told The Mirror that Harry was “delighted” with the first batch of Harry & Meghan episodes and that he has “absolutely no regrets” about the project.

“Harry is delighted with the narrative of the documentary and how he and Meghan came across,” the mirror source said. “The reason for doing this was to share their truth on their lives. He feels it told the story he wanted the world to hear and has absolutely no regrets.”

The source, who is also described as “a close friend of his late mother, Princess Diana,” said that Harry’s decision to make the show was his way of following in his mother’s footsteps and speaking his truth even though members of the royal family are often discouraged from doing so.

“One of Diana’s reasons for speaking out was to help senior royals have an understanding of the impact on others caught up in the Firm,” the source explained. “She and Harry were both brave enough to fight back.”
