Robert Oppenheimer, the American theoretical physicist credited as the \u201cfather of the atomic bomb.\u201d  The movie directed and written by Nolan is based on \u201cAmerican Prometheus\u201d by Kai Bird and Martin J. Sherwin.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n<p>\t\u201cWe imagine a future and our imaginings horrify.  They would fear it until they understand it, and they won&#8217;t understand it until they&#8217;ve used it,\u201d Murphy&#8217;s Oppenheimer says in the trailer.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n<p>\tHe continued, \u201cTheory will only take you so far.
