\n<\/aside>\nAfter months of speculation, authorities have revealed the cause of death for TikTok star Cooper Noriega, who was found dead in a Los Angeles parking lot on June 9, 2022.<\/p>\n
According to the Los Angeles County Medical examiner, the 19-year-old had perished due to \u201ccombined effects of alprazolam, fentanyl and lorazepam\u201d in what authorities are ruling an accidental drug overdose. An investigation found evidence of \u201crecent clonazepam use.\u201d<\/p>\n
Just hours before his death, Noriega had posted a video of himself lying in bed with the caption, \u201cwho else b thinking they gon d!\u20ac young af.\u201d The young star had also revealed to his Instagram followers on June 4 that he was starting a Discord page \u201cfor mental health\u201d due to his lifelong struggle with substance abuse. <\/p>\nNoriega had been open about his struggles with substance abuse.<\/figcaption>@cooper.noriega\/Instagram<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\nNoriega’s death has been ruled an \u201caccident.\u201d<\/figcaption>@cooper.noriega\/Instagram<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\t<\/aside>\n\u201cI’ve been struggling with addiction since I was 9 years old, you may think that’s crazy but that’s the life I’ve been dealt,\u201d he wrote in the emotional post. \u201cI would like to use the influence I’ve been given to create a space built on spreading awareness and normalizing talking about mental illness.\u201d<\/p>\n
At the time of his death, the social media sensation boasted 1.7 million TikTok followers and 95.7 million likes, as well as more than 427,000 followers on Instagram. He was best known for posting lip-sync videos and short sketches.<\/p>\n
Noriega’s friends and family mourned their son’s untimely passing on social media. \u201cToday has been an incredibly difficult time for my family and me,\u201d wrote his father, Harold Noriega. \u201cWe lost our beautiful 19 year old Cooper last evening. He was loved by so many and truly the love of Treva’s, Parker’s and my life.\u201d<\/p>\nJust hours before his death, Noriega uploaded a TikTok video about \u201cdying young.\u201d<\/figcaption>@cooper.noriega\/Instagram<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\nMeanwhile, his most recent ex-girlfriend, Sabrina Quesada, posted a series of Instagram photos depicting her and the late TikToker. <\/p>\n
