The plus-size stylist was reportedly hospitalized in Las Vegas and died from heart complications over the weekend, sources told TMZ on Monday.<\/p>\n
Her salon’s Instagram account posted about her death on Monday, writing, \u201cWe ask, on behalf of the Babydoll family, that you allow us time to process this tremendous loss. Further details and arrangements will be announced soon.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have an extraordinary loss and appreciate the space to grieve in peace. Please keep our Babydoll family & team lifted in your hearts and prayers,\u201d the announcement continued. <\/p>\n
A rep for the company told TMZ in a statement: \u201cWe regretfully announce, with great pain, the passing of The Founder & Owner of Babydoll Beauty Couture, The Legendary Jamie Lopez. We ask, on behalf of the Babydoll family, that you allow us time to process this tremendous loss.\u201d<\/p>\n \n
Lopez’s Las Vegas business, founded in 2017, claims to be the world’s first plus-size salon. <\/p>\n
\u201cPeople just don’t like fat people, they treat us horribly,\u201d she told the Mirror in 2019 regarding her drive to foster inclusivity. \u201cThey want to make us feel like we’re unwelcome or feel like we don’t belong here.\u201d<\/p>\n
The WE tv show, which premiered in August, chronicled her journey to design it while confined to her bed, as she weighed 846 pounds before losing 400 pounds. <\/p>\nJamie Lopez was the star of the WE tv series \u201cSuper Sized Salon.\u201d<\/figcaption>Instagram\/babydollbeautycouture<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\u201cHere Comes Honey Boo Boo\u201d alum Mama June and her two daughters, Pumpkin and Jessica, appeared in Episode 4.<\/p>\n

In 2019, Lopez \u2014 who previously ran a salon in Los Angeles, reported the Mirror \u2014 felt forced to relocate after her business was vandalized with excrement. But every determination did not let up.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is my dream and I am not going to give up on it. I have put my life and everything into this \u2014 sacrifice, blood, sweat, tears, everything,\u201d she said after moving to an even larger venue. \u201cFinancially it is a huge investment, but right now I feel like it’s go big or go home.<\/p>\n
