The Early Signing Period in college football has arrived! West Virginia currently has twenty verbal commitments in this class, plus another two transfer commitments already on board. With several more spots available to get to the maximum of 85 scholarships, it’s possible that the Mountaineers could add a few more in the next 72 hours. EerSports is going to have full coverage of the day – and beyond, like we always do – and you can follow along right here in our live update thread. Or, if you are a VIP member, jump right into the VIP Discussion Threadwhere I’ll be hanging all day long.

The Mountaineers will begin the day ranked 35th in the 247Sports Team Rankings, and with an average star rating of 87.01. Below are several links for more information, including commitment lists, top targets remaining, live chats, and more. We’ll then follow with a section for live updates that we will update with more information as it comes in – new signings, new commitments, decommitments, and more. And, at the very bottom of this story will be a full rundown of every commitment in the class, complete with their highlights, their rankings, their vital information, and why they chose the Mountaineers.

***LIVE UPDATES***

12:48pm ET – Things got a little dicey there, but Traylon Ray is officially signed. Neal Brown alluded to the fact that the Mountaineers would only sign sixteen players, but he was hoping for eighteen. One of those question marks was Traylon Ray, but he’s now on board.

11:25am ET – Rodney Gallagher has officially signed with WVU Football.

11:15 am ET – It’s been an interesting last hour. Not only did Justin Benton flip to Houston, but Head Coach Neal Brown said on the Signing Day show that he is only expecting sixteen signees today. Most likely, that means that Traylon Ray and Chrisdasson Saint-Jean are electing to wait, as Brown says that Johnny Williams is in (although not official from the school) and the team just announced DJ Oliver. With Rodney Gallagher posting an official WVU graphic for a 1pm signing, that would make sixteen.

10:25 am ET – Defensive lineman Justin Benton, who officially visited Texas and Houston the last two weekend, has flipped his commitment to Houston just moments ago during a ceremony at his high school.

8:55am ET – NFL legacy and long-time WVU commit Josiah Trotter has officially signed his paperwork to become a Mountaineer.

8:39am ET – Offensive lineman Cooper Young has officially signed his NLI with West Virginia. The Mountaineers are now waiting on eight more signees today. Maybe more.

8:30am ET – Jahiem White was the first verbal commitment in this class and, now, he’s officially a Mountaineer, sending in his Letter of Intent.

8:21am ET – James Heard, who might be one of the best pure pass rushers in the country, has officially sent in his paperwork to be a Mountaineer.

8:04am ET – Ben Cutter, who might be the most prolific tackler in the entire country, has officially signed with WVU. Over three seasons, he amassed nearly 600 tackles in his high school career.

7:56am ET – Zachariah Keith, who was originally committed to Georgia Tech and opened things back up before pledging to WVU, has officially signed his paperwork.

7:48am ET – Things are happening quickly. Fellow WVU legacy Noah Braham has officially signed with WVU, as has the first lineman of the day – Harborcreek (PA) star Nick Krahe.

7:34am ET – Tight end commit Tory Johnson Jr., whose father played for the Mountaineers around the turn of the century, has officially signed with WVU Football.

7:26am ET – The Mountaineers officially have their quarterback on board. Charlotte (NC) Catholic signal caller Sean Boyle has sent in his Letter of Intent to the Mountaineers.

7:09am ET – The first Letter of Intent has been announced, with Head Coach Neal Brown taking to social media to announce the signing of Josiah Jackson. The Fairfield (OH) product was then joined by his twin brother, Jordan Jackson, two minutes later.
