On Saturday, Las Vegas (Nev.) Bishop Gorman wide receiver Trech Kekahuna publicly announced his commitment to Arizona. However, by Wednesday, the start of the early signing period, it appears Kekahuna has different intentions.

In one of the biggest surprises of the day, Kekahuna, who originally committed to the Badgers in June, has signed with UW, the school announced.

A three-star prospect, Kekahuna was a hidden gem found by former wide receivers coach Alvis Whitted. A native of Hawaii, who played at St. Louis High School, the same program that produced UW’s Nick Herbig and Kamo’i Latu, Kekahuna earned an offer at camp and quickly committed.

Following the firing of former head coach Paul Chryst, Kekahuna opted to re-open his recruitment. He then landed scholarship offers from the likes of Oregon, Utah, Texas A&M, Washington State, and of course, Arizona.

Kekahuna had a massive senior season, hauling in 61 passes for 1,330 yards and 22 touchdowns for powerhouse Bishop Gorman. Per 247sports, Kekahuna is the nation’s No. 112 ranked wide receiver in the class of 2023.

Kekahuna has not publicly confirmed this signing just yet. He would be the 14th commit for head coach Luke Fickell in the 2023 recruiting class.

Stay tuned for more on this developing story.
