CHARLOTTE, NC — North Carolina defeated Michigan, 80-76, in the Jumpman Invitational on Wednesday night inside the Spectrum Center in Charlotte. The Tar Heels used a 15-2 run to make it 38-30 before taking a 41-34 lead into the half. UNC trailed by eight at one point in the first half, but never trailed in the second period. The win UNC to 9-4 and moved ended the non-conference portion of Carolina’s 2022-23 season.<\/p>\n

Armando Bacot<\/b> led all scorers with 26 points and added five rebounds. RJ Davis<\/b> scored 19 points and Caleb Love<\/b> chipped in 18 in the win. Davis was 4-for-8 from three. Leaky Black<\/b> was clutch down the stretch with a key steal and basket in the closing minutes.<\/p>\n

UNC out-rebounded Michigan 40-38. The Tar Heels shot 29-for-58 (50 percent) from the field and 7-for-20 (35 percent) from three.<\/p>\n

North Carolina has now won four straight games and will have eight full days off before facing Pittsburgh in the Steel City on Dec. 30.<\/p>\n
