Georgia started Thursday with a bang by landing Mississippi State wide receiver RaRa Thomas<\/b>. As it turned out, that was not the only SEC receiver the Bulldogs set their sights on.

Former Missouri wide receiver Dominic Lovett<\/b> officially signed with Georgia Thursday night shortly after committing to the Bulldogs. Lovett just completed his sophomore season with the Tigers and has two years of eligibility remaining.<\/span><\/p>\n

A former four-star recruit from Belleville, Illinois, the 5-foot-10, 185-pound Lovett was a true playmaker for the Tigers this fall. Lovett racked up 56 receptions for 846 yards \u2014 both of which led Missouri \u2014 along with 3 touchdowns this fall. Lovett stood seventh among SEC receivers in receptions per game (4.7) and third in receiving yards per game (70.5).<\/span><\/p>\n

Lovett’s best game statistically came on Oct. 29, when he had 10 receptions for 148 yards in Missouri’s 23-10 victory over South Carolina. Lovett had four games this fall in which he had at least 100 receiving yards.<\/span><\/p>\n

Lovett made his share of plays against Georgia when the Bulldogs traveled to Columbia on Oct. 1. Lovett had a 36-yard reception early in the second quarter of action and ultimately ended the evening with a game-high mark in receptions (6) and receiving yards (84) in what proved to be a 26-22 loss for the Tigers. <\/span><\/p>\n

Lovett played in all 13 games of his true freshman season in 2021 and had 26 receptions for 173 yards.<\/span><\/p>\n

Lovett and Thomas stand as Georgia’s first two pick-ups from the transfer portal this offseason. The Bulldogs did not add any players from the portal prior to the 2022 season.<\/span><\/p>\n
