The upcoming 18-episode series requires a lot from Cox, keeping him extremely busy.  In a new interview with NME, the star explained how the future of his role and character is largely unknown to him at this point.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou said earlier that I could be busy for years, and I thought, &#8216;Yeah, maybe.  Hopefully&#8217;,\u201d he explained.  \u201cBut if this show next year doesn&#8217;t hit the spot, then that might be it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><output class=\"widget-container\"><button type=\"button\" style=\"display:none\" class=\"jsx-3968970857\"\/><\/p>\n<div class=\"jsx-3733722558 slideshow-preview\">\n<p>Who Will Be the New Avengers in the MCU?<\/p>\n<div class=\"jsx-3733722558 images-container\"><button type=\"button\" aria-label=\"Open Slideshow\" class=\"jsx-3733722558 hero-image\"><button class=\"jsx-4108951595 button button--secondary-alt jsx-509165991 row-pagination-button next contained centered round xlarge\" type=\"button\" title=\"Open Slideshow\"\/><\/button><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><\/output><\/p>\n<p>In order to live up to the tall order of 18 episodes, production on Daredevil: Born Again will reportedly take Cox 11 months of 2023;  he starts shooting in February.  The new series will not be a continuation of the Netflix show that made Cox a fan-favorite, but instead it will be a fresh look at the character.  What does that change really look like, though? <\/p>\n<section data-transform=\"object-feedback\"\/>\n<p>&#8220;This has to be a reincarnation, it has to be different, otherwise why are we doing it?&#8221;  Cox explained. &#8220;My opinion is this character works best when he&#8217;s geared towards a slightly more mature audience.  My instinct is that on Disney+ it will be dark but it probably won&#8217;t be as gory.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Cox urges for us fans of the Netflix series to hope for something new, something beyond what the previous series was doing.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We&#8217;ve done that,&#8221; he said.  &#8220;Let&#8217;s take the things that really worked, but can we broaden? Can we appeal to a slightly younger audience without losing what we&#8217;ve learned about what works?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><output class=\"article-video-container\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Previously, Cox has hinted that the new show may be something similar in tone to Deadpool.  In fact, he thinks that a team-up between the two supes would totally make sense.<\/p>\n<p>Alongside Cox, Daredevil: Born Again will see the return of Vincent D&#8217;Onofrio as Wilson Fisk, better known as Kingpin.
