Former President Barack Obama stuck to an annual tradition Friday, releasing a list of his favorites for the year of 2022, including movies and books.\n <\/p>\n

\n

\u201cI always look forward to sharing my lists of favorite books, movies, and music with all of you,\u201d Obama tweeted<\/a>. \u201cFirst up, here are some of the books I read and enjoyed this year. Let me know which books I should check out in 2023.\u201d\n <\/p>\n

Among his favorite written works, Obama listed \u201cThe School for Good Mothers\u201d by Jessamine Chan and \u201cThe Light We Carry\u201d by former first lady Michelle Obama, noting, \u201cI’m a bit biased on this one.\u201d\n <\/p>\n

\n

On his list of favorite movies, the former president included \u201cTop Gun: Maverick\u201d and \u201cDescendant,\u201d which he also noted he was \u201cbiased\u201d about since the Netflix documentary was produced by the Obama-founded company Higher Ground Productions.\n <\/p>\n

\n

\u201cI saw some great movies this year \u2013 here are some of my favorites. What did I miss?\u201d Obama wrote in another tweet<\/a>.\n <\/p>\n

Social media denizens quickly pointed out that Obama left off the list one of the highest grossing movies of the year: \u201cBlack Panther: Wakanda Forever.\u201d The Marvel hit and sequel to 2018’s \u201cBlack Panther\u201d has come in second behind \u201cTop Gun: Maverick\u201d in box office gross this year, bringing in more than $421 million at the domestic box office alone since its November release, according to Box Office mojo \u201cBlack Panther\u201d made the list of Obama’s favorite movies in 2018.\n <\/p>\n
