Samsung is rolling out an update to the Galaxy F23 5G in India that brings the Android 13 OS along with One UI 5.0 customizations. It comes with firmware version E236BXXU1BVL1 and a download size of around 2.7GB.

The update, however, has the November 2022 security patch instead of the one for this month. Typically, Samsung releases an update with a new Android version packed with an older security patch and offers the latest security patch with another update. Since the Galaxy F23 is listed in Samsung’s quarterly update schedule, it should get the next security update in Q1 2023.

Galaxy F23 users in India can now install the update by heading to Settings » software updates and tapping Download and install. You can also download the update from our firmware database and install it manually.

Galaxy F23 Android 13 (One UI 5.0) features

Samsung’s Android 13-based One UI 5.0 software brings a revamped UI design, new customization options, more features, and performance improvements.

Changes to the look of the UI include dynamic app icons that can adapt to the color of the home screen wallpaper, smoother animation, better transition effects, and new blur effects throughout the UI. As for the customization options, you can customize the lock screen with different clock styles, notification settings, and live previews. You choose the color palette of the UI from 16 color options. You can also set a different call background for each contact.

While the new update brings a ton of new features, the most interesting and useful one is the ability to extract text from an image or the camera’s live feed. For example, if you point the camera toward a business card, the feature can recognize and extract the name, contact details, and address on it. More importantly, the software intelligently suggests the actions that you can perform with it based on the context. For example, if the feature recognizes a mobile number, it will show you options to call or text the contact.
