As 2022 comes to a close, the slang term \u201cnepo baby\u201d \u2014 short for \u201cnepotism baby\u201d \u2014 has emerged as one of the year’s most useful descriptors (alongside \u201cgoblin mode,\u201d which earned the distinction of Oxford’s \u201cword of the year \u201d).<\/p>\n

this week, New York Magazine<\/em> published an extensive chart tracking entertainment industry family connections in an article titled \u201cHow a Nepo Baby is Born\u201d that made the Internet go wild. Some of the exposed networks were obvious<\/a>some were surprising<\/a>and some were a bit of stretch<\/a>. All in all, the story illustrated how the children of the rich and famous dominate the film and television industries, dispelling any lingering myth of Hollywood meritocracy. <\/p>\n
