The Avatar Franchise Could Be Heading For Earth

Producer John Landau has offered some differing accounts on Avatar 5‘s plans involving Earth. After stating that the movie will involve “a section of the story where we go to Earth”, Landau later clarified in another interview that the franchise will “keep all the stories on Pandora“. However, there could be cryptic details at play about the Avatar franchise’s story that Landau cannot fully disclose yet. Landau specifically stating that “a section” of Avatar 5 would visit Earth could be the key to understanding plans for the franchise.

Sci-fi elements such as teleportation could be used to briefly take Avatar 5 to Earth. Additionally, the abilities of the Na’vi’s deity Eywa might also bring the story there through astral projection. In any case, while that might lead to a trip home for Jake or a trip to another world for Neytiri, Avatar 5 bringing the Na’vi to Earth is much worse news for Quaritch. Compared to who he was originally in AvatarQuaritch is a very different man in Avatar: The Way of Waterin more ways than one.
