\t\t\t\t\tNew Orleans police are currently investigating a homicide that left a well-known New Orleans comedian dead. Brandon “Boogie B” Montrell was shot multiple times in his car outside of a Rouses on the 700 block of Baronne Street around 4 pm on Friday. Montrell just got back in town from a trip from Los Angeles, according to a relative of his. He was scheduled to perform a comedy show at the Comedy House of NOLA on Jan. 15. Montrell was born in New Orleans and spent his childhood in Tampa before returning to Louisiana and graduating from Bonnabel High School before attending Delgado Community College. He later moved to Washington, DC, and became a comedian. He was working on Hood Comedian Stars with Master P. Montrell also recorded a hit song, \u201cCatch the Wall,\u201d with his cousin and recording artist Hotboy Ronald.His mother, Sherilyn Price, released the following statement: \u201cMy son was not just the victim of a stray bullet,\u201d said his mother, Sherilyn Price. \u201cHe’s the victim of decades of neglect that have left New Orleans’ youth with no hope for a future and with no real fear of consequences. It’s past time for leaders in our city and all over to do their jobs. It matters who the president is, who the governor is, and who the mayor is. Leaders create opportunities \u2013 including the opportunity to live in peace without fear of random violence.\u201d New Orleans police are seeking two wanted suspects in connection with the shooting. The pictured individuals should be considered armed and dangerous.Anyone with information or who can locate these individuals is urged to contact the Homicide Section at (504) 658-5300 or Crimestoppers at (504) 822-1111 or toll free at 1-877- 903-7867.The New Orleans Police Department’s Homicide Section is also requesting the public’s assistance in locating a person of interest.Dyamonique Smith is currently wanted as a person of interest.
