The box office performance of Rohit Shetty’s Circus<\/em> was disappointing in the first two days as it could only earn Rs 6.25 crores and Rs. 6.40 crores respectively on Friday and Saturday. But despite the low numbers, there were some expectations from the Ranveer Singh-starrer to have a decent growth today since it’s the big Christmas holiday. After all, the movie was released in this period specifically to gain advantage of the festival and the holidays.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n However, Circus<\/em> has failed to achieve any sort of respectable growth today as the movie could rake in only Rs. 7.40 crores on Day 3 taking the opening weekend total to around Rs. 20 cr. The growth is just 15% from its Saturday figure, which is clearly not much to speak about. In fact, the film’s entire box office performance so far has been way below expectations considering the collaboration between Rohit Shetty and Ranveer Singh.<\/p>\n Shetty’s films are always received well by the audiences in Mumbai and Gujarat. But unfortunately, Circus<\/em> hasn’t been able to show any respectable growth in these regions too on the Christmas holiday.<\/p>\n Avatar: The Way Of Water<\/em>which is in its second weekend, had become a success even before the release of Circus<\/em>. But the latter’s performance at the ticket window has also benefited it immensely. After raking in a huge number of Rs. 20 crores on its second Saturday (yesterday), the James Cameron movie, today, is estimated to have scored triple of what Circus<\/em> earned, which is around Rs. 22 crores.<\/p>\n Considering the performances of both the films, it is now learned that the shows of Avatar: The Way Of Water<\/em> are likely to be increased from Monday.
