Many regions of the US have been hit by severe winter weather lately. With the Liberty Bowl between Arkansas and Kansas slated to kickoff on Dec. 28 from Memphis, a statement has been made about the likelihood of the contest being played.<\/p>\n

The bowl organizer tweeted on Dec. 26 that the Liberty Bowl is still expected to be played despite the recent barrage of frigid weather.<\/p>\n

Memphis has been dealing with some water problems as a result of the weather, with MLGW asking customers to restrict all non-essential water uses as it attempts to solve issues within the water system that began over the past few days.<\/p>\n

Arkansas enters the contest with a 6-6 record after losing 29-27 at Missouri in the regular season finale. This will be the first meeting between the programs since 2 games played in 1905 and 1906, both Kansas victories.<\/p>\n

Arkansas-Kansas will be televised on ESPN.<\/p>\n
