Netflix has yet to announce a second season renewal for its record-breaking hit show Wednesday, which might have grown more complicated due to corporate mergers.<\/p>\n

Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer owns the rights to The Addams Family and its properties, so when Amazon Studios acquired the company last March for $8.5B, Wednesday seemingly came with it.<\/p>\n

‘[Amazon]truthfully, is in business with everybody and is expected to continue to do that in multiple dimensions,’ a source told Deadline on December 16.<\/p>\n

On December 13, Alfred Gough and Miles Millar’s live-action coming-of-age comedy series about Wednesday Addams’ adventures at Hogwarts-like Nevermore Academy crossed the 1B hours viewed mark.<\/p>\n

Two-time Oscar nominee Tim Burton directed all eight episodes of the spin-off starring Jenna Ortega and featuring previous Wednesday Addams, Christina Ricci.<\/p>\n

On New Year’s Day, Millar posted a picture of a squirrel strapped into an electric chair captioned: ‘Wishing everyone a mind-blowing 2023!’<\/p>\n
