Jeremy Renner is in critical but stable condition after he fell an accident while plowing snow on Sunday, a representative said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe can Jeremy is hospitalized in critical but stable condition with confirmed injuries after experiencing a weather related accident while plowing snow earlier today,\u201d the representative said. \u201cHis family is with him and he is receiving excellent care.\u201d<\/p>\n

The spokesperson said in a later statement that Renner, 51, \u201csuffered blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries\u201d and underwent surgery. The actor was in intensive care Monday evening.<\/p>\n

The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office said it responded to a report of a traumatic injury in the area of \u200b\u200bMt. Rose Highway in Reno, Nevada, at around 9 am local time (12 pm ET) Sunday. <\/p>\n

It said Renner was the only person injured. <\/p>\n

“Deputies coordinated with Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District and REMSA Health to arrange for medical transport of Mr. Jeremy Renner via care flight to a local area hospital,” the sheriff’s office said.<\/p>\n

The sheriff’s office’s Major Accident Investigation Team is looking into the incident, it said.<\/p>\n

It was not clear exactly where he was hurt. Renner has a home in Nevada, according to The Associated Press. <\/p>\n

In 2015, he posted a photo to Instagram of a snowcat vehicle, which is used in snowy conditions. It was not immediately clear whether the vehicle was involved in Sunday’s incident.<\/p>\n

Renner is well-known for his role as Hawkeye as part of Marvel’s Avengers squad. He is also a two-time Oscar nominee for his performances in \u201cThe Hurt Locker\u201d and \u201cThe Town.\u201d <\/p>\n

Renner’s spokesperson said Monday that his family wanted to express their gratitude to his doctors and nurses, first responders, and others.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey are also tremendously overwhelmed and appreciative of the outpouring of love and support from his fans,\u201d the statement said.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
