Jeremy Renner was \u201crun over\u201d by an \u201cextremely large piece of snow-removal equipment\u201d weighing \u201cat least 14,3330 pounds,\u201d according to local authorities.<\/p>\n

Washoe County Sheriff Darin Balaam said during a press conference Tuesday that the actor’s PistenBully was \u201cstuck\u201d when the \u201cHawkeye\u201d star attempted to \u201cretrieve\u201d the snowcat and \u201cget [it] moving.\u201d<\/p>\n

Although the 51-year-old was \u201csuccessful,\u201d he was off of the machinery and \u201cspeaking to a family member\u201d when the PistenBully subsequently \u201cstarted to roll.\u201d<\/p>\n

The sheriff explained, \u201cIn an effort to stop the rolling PistenBully, Mr. Renner attempt[ed] to get back into the driver’s seat of the PistenBully. Based on our investigation, it’s at this point that Mr. Renner [was] run over.\u201d<\/p>\n

Balaam noted that Renner was not believed \u201cto be impaired at all\u201d during the \u201ctragic accident\u201d and foul play is not suspected.<\/p>\n

News broke on Monday that the Oscar nominee was in \u201ccritical but stable condition\u201d in Nevada after \u201cexperiencing a weather-related incident.\u201d<\/p>\n

Renner was airlifted to a hospital where he underwent surgery, according to TMZ.<\/p>\n

The \u201cTown\u201d star, who glimpsed \u201cblunt chest trauma\u201d among other injuries, gave a of his wounds on Tuesday when he posted a hospital selfie via Instagram.<\/p>\n

Renner has lived in his remote mansion near Reno for nearly a decade, telling Men’s Health in November 2021 that his home \u201cisn’t a horse ranch [but] \u2026 more of a horsepower ranch.\u201d<\/p>\n
