ESPN reported Wednesday that Petrino, who had past head coaching stops with Missouri State, Louisville, Arkansas and the NFL&#8217;s Atlanta Falcons, will join Fisher&#8217;s staff in College Station after perviously accepting the offensive coordinator position at UNLV just weeks ago.<\/p>\n<p>To nobody&#8217;s surprise, national reaction was strong and widespread once the report on Petrino hit the internet.  Petrino is a veteran in the coaching industry and owns an overall <span>137\u201371 college head coaching record between stints at Missouri State, Louisville and Arkansas.  But his head coach <\/span>past isn&#8217;t without some baggage, notably a motorcycle accident during his time at Arkansas that ultimately preceded his dismissal as Razorbacks head coach in Spring 2012 due to unethical behavior.<\/p>\n<p>As for Texas A&#038;M, Fisher faced pressure all season to bring in a new mind this offseason to call the offense in 2023 after the unit cratered in 2022. Texas A&#038;M finished the year 5-7 after entering the season ranked in the AP Top 10.
